Services I offer include:
Copy Editing (also called Line Editing): checking spelling, punctuation, grammar and other mechanics. I’ll also keep an eye on fact consistency (if your main character put on a T-shirt on page 10 and then does up his shirt buttons on page 12, I’ll point that out to you).
Beta Reading: reading your manuscript and giving you overall feedback about plot, characters, readability etc.
Developmental Editing (also called Content Editing): similar to beta reading, but much more indepth. I’ll read the manuscript and give suggestions as to plot, character arcs, flow, overall believability etc. I’ll also make note of any style issues that stick out to me (for example, if there are a lot of places that could use more “show, don’t tell”, I’ll point that out to you).
RATES: My rates for editing (copy editing or developmental editing) start at $0.015 (1.5¢) per word, and go up from there depending on the level of work your manuscript needs. Beta reading is $0.003 (0.3¢) per word.
Contact me for a quote! I’ll do a sample edit (approx. 1500 words/6 pages) and let you know what I can do for you. The price for a sample is $20.00, which will come off the cost of the full edit if we decide to pursue it. (Take a look at what other clients have said about my work.)
